Colorado Films Colorado Filmmakers In Attendance To Represent 7 Colorado Documentaries In the spotlight at the 35th Annual Breckenridge Film Festival are Colorado filmmakers, some new to the arena and some veteran and Academy Award winning. Thanks to the support of Ron Henderson and Marilyn Marsh St. Veltri of the Denver Film Society, and Meg Lass and Mary Rianoshek, founding members of the Breckenridge Film Festival, these acclaimed Colorado filmmakers will be in attendance at the 2015 festival to represent their films. They will also participate in a 3 p.m. forum moderated by Colorado Film Commissioner Donald Zuckerman about filmmaking in Colorado. Academy Award winning director Daniel Junge will be in attendance on Sunday, Sept. 20, with his film,“Being Evel,” which closes out the festival. Adventure Reel

Adventure Reel Highly Anticipated Film, “MERU” To Screen as Hit Adventure Reel Features Four Nights Of Programming: Introduced in 2013, the Breckenridge Film Festival’s Adventure Reel has grown into four nights of programming for the 2015 - 35th annual - festival. Three films headline the lineup, including the highly anticipated alpine drama/documentary “Meru", which screens at the Riverwalk Center at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, following Thursday’s opening night film, “Snowman.”  On Saturday, Sept. 19, the full lineup of Adventure Reel films up for audience awards takes place from 3 – 11 p.m. “Being Evel,” a “fascinating, exhaustive and well-researched” documentary about daredevil motorbike star Evel Knievel created by Colorado’s own Daniel Junge, closes out the festival on Sunday night. “Meru” showcases an epic wall climb of a not-so-well known Himalayan peak by Conrad Anker and Jimmy [...]

BFF Makes USA Today Top 10 Poll Are you wondering where we landed in the USA Today Top 10 Poll?? We ended up No. 13 thanks to YOU! We didn't quite make the Top 10, but that's OK, because we crept above Telluride, Tribeca and Sundance! We are truly a film-lover's and filmmaker-friendly festival, and that shows with our movement from No. 20 to No. 13 IN THE COUNTRY! BoxTrolls: Behind-the-Scenes Look at Stop-Motion Animation! 6:30 p.m. February 26 at the Speakeasy Theater and Grand Vacation Community Center Hopeful Room  6:30 p.m. February 27 at the Skyline Cinema Theater The Breckenridge Film Festival is pleased to expand its year-round programming with a behind-the-scenes look at stop-motion animation, the technique behind the creation of 2015 Academy Award nominee “The BoxTrolls” and its sister film, “Coraline.” Producer Mark Shapiro will bring puppets, sets and an audio-visual presentation to Breckenridge and Dillon during his two-day stay in Summit County for an odyssey into film education unlike any other. Stop-motion animation is a cinematic process, or technique, used to make static objects appear as if they were moving. It is commonly used in Claymation and puppet-based animation.
