This year’s partnership with Keystone Science School’s Girls in STEM Weekend Retreat will again include a Community Film Night on NOV 11, featuring Costume Designer Deborah Cook of Laika Entertainment.
Deborah made history in January 2017 when she received a nomination for Kubo and the Two Strings in the category of Excellence in Fantasy Film by the Costume Designers Guild. This special event will not only be a chance to meet a renowned expert in costume design, it will be a chance to learn about the extreme intricacy of stop-motion animation and an opportunity to rub elbows with a female leader in her very technical field.
The Girls in STEM Film Night will be at the Frisco Day Lodge on Saturday, Nov. 11 with a special women in STEM presentation from Deborah alongside the opportunity to see what the Girls in STEM are working on during their retreat!
