Volunteer for the Film Festival

Do you love the movies? Do you believe independent film has the power to enrich lives? Our Key Volunteer join our team as we inspire, educate and entertain our community.

As the Special Programming Coordinator, you will be joining our team as we inspire, educate, and entertain our community by highlighting our filmmakers and industry insiders as they host special thematic presentations throughout the festival.

The Special Programming Coordinator thinks alongside festival leadership to dream and create programs that enhance the festival by bringing festival film programming to life.

Your Impact:

  • Be an integral part of the organizational team, communicating closely with the Executive Director and Executive Assistant to enhance the festival programming with creative, relevant panels, activities, discussions, music, art, etc.
  • Implement your initiative and problem-solving skills through creative solutions to enhance programming, animate the event and coordinate speakers for things such as Film and Yoga, The Adventure Reel, Special Forums, etc.
  • Collaborate with the attending filmmakers to engage them and communicate event details.
  • Coordinate with the Signage Coordinator to ensure all relevant sponsor banners, logos and other signage are present at the event.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Director to be sure all film trailers, sponsor slides, and necessary technical components are present and operating.
  • Communicate details of special programming to PR Specialist to get attention to your good work!

Estimated time commitment:

  • Approximately 5-10 hours/month in the months leading up to the festival (July, August, September) for in-person meetings, updates, organization and communication. Your full presence is necessary during the annual September festival.
  • Suggested: Attendance at a few weekly operations meetings in July, August and September to gain working knowledge of festival operations.

The Promotions Street Team assists in hanging posters, rack cards and postcards in Summit County communities. prior to the fall festival and other events such as the monthly Summit Film Society.

Your impact:

  • Be a critical part of the marketing team, communicating closely with the Executive Director, Assistant Director and/or Marketing Team.
  • Get some exercise! Be on call to walk one or two designated areas in Summit County at least once monthly hang posters, distribute rack cards and postcards in strategic places for highest visible impact in one, or more, of the communities listed below.
  • You will sign up for one or more of the following areas:
    • Silverthorne
    • Dillon/Keystone
    • Breckenridge
    • Frisco
  • Be social! Chat up our events with your store owners and management so they can help spread the word about our awesome events!
  • Use your organization! Help festival leadership by providing accurate and up-to-date records of to distribute posters, rack cards and postcards throughout the community.

Estimated time commitment:

· A few hours per month, year-round.

The Signage & Sponsor Activation Coordinator works with the Parties and Events Coordinator, Theater Managers and Transportation Coordinators to enhance the visibility of our sponsors throughout the four-day fall festival.

Your Impact:

  • Be an integral part of the organizational team, communicating closely with the Executive Director and Executive Assistant to fine-tune sponsorship recognition at the annual festival.
  • Implement your initiative and problem-solving skills through creative solutions to enhance sponsor signage, visibility, and recognition.
  • Invigorate and increase the Breck Film Fest volunteer base. Create a fun environment for volunteers who are recruited to assist with signage and sponsor activation efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Parties and Events Coordinator to guarantee each event has a flutter flag, table tents containing event and sponsor information, sponsor banners and relevant sponsor signage and activation at festival events.

Estimated time commitment:

  • Approximately 5-7 hours/month in months leading up to the festival (July, August, September) including in-person meetings, updates, organization and communication.
  • Your full presence is necessary during the annual September festival.
  • Suggested: Attendance at a few weekly operations meetings in July, August and September to gain working knowledge of festival operations.
